Chris has been a music industry professional for almost 30 years. After working in college radio at WJUL in Lowell, MA and becoming Music Director there, he went on to manage several Boston based rock acts and start his own record label called Presto Records in the late 1980’s. That soon led to opportunities to book various nightclubs in Boston throughout most of the 1990’s including Bunrattys, The Middle East, and Mama Kin Music Hall.
In 1997 his career continued in Seattle as the music talent buyer for One Reel, the producers of the long running Bumbershoot Festival and other special events and concerts. He was at One Reel for 18 years, the last 5 years as the company’s Programming Director. In that position he oversaw all aspects of programming and booking for various events including Bumbershoot.
Chris recently left One Reel and Bumbershoot and is now devoting time to his own company (Porter Productions) that offers talent buying and event planning services to events around the country as well as promoting club level shows. He is also a DJ and sports fan event producer.
Jim is a 25 year veteran of the music industry including 17 years in promotion and marketing for Warner Bros. Records. He is currently active as a writer and actor based on Bainbridge Island.
Hatching on a rock in a fetid pool, Scott Giampino has been the Talent Buyer for The Triple Door for some 11-odd years, as well as more recently buying shows for the Benaroya Hall - both on the hard-scrabble streets of Downtown Seattle. He has managed to bring tons of an as-yet-unheard artists as well as many a household name to Seattle in that time. Scott's been around music and its business his entire life: from working at the Showbox in Seattle, heading up marketing and promo at Chicago's mighty Touch and Go Records for a decade to leaning on counters in many a record store. He's got a jukebox full of crusty old 45s at home and drums the rock and roll in The Fixers and Hard Roller.
